Description
In Just A Flash goes through many themes and ideas, making the listener excited about what will come next. The main theme starts with a clarinet choir, and slowly builds to include the full orchestra. Suddenly, the theme is left behind as a new one comes through, then another, and another. The listener is left wondering why and how everything went by so fast. At the climax of the piece, the main theme returns, bringing with it a sense of familiarity and joy.
For Symphony Orchestra
In Just A Flash goes through many themes and ideas, making the listener excited about what will come next. The main theme starts with a clarinet choir, and slowly builds to include the full orchestra. Suddenly, the theme is left behind as a new one comes through, then another, and another. The listener is left wondering why and how everything went by so fast. At the climax of the piece, the main theme returns, bringing with it a sense of familiarity and joy. There is a lesson to be learned here: In Just A Flash tells a story how quickly certain certain things in life go by and how we should value the present before it changes. If there’s one thing that the listener can take away from this piece, it’s that everyone should embrace the present and appreciate it while it’s still here. Life goes by fast, and it’s important to be grateful for the things in the now. Sometimes I look back on my life in middle school and I think “Man, I really wish I could go back to those days,” because now I’m growing up and life is getting more challenging. Andy Bernard, a character from the popular American TV series, The Office, says “I wish there was a way to know you’re in ‘the good old days’, before you’ve actually left them. Someone should write a song about that.” In Just A Flash is that song.
