In August of 1952, during the war in Korea, at the request of General P.D. Ginder, Commanding General of the 45th "Thunderbird" Division of the U.S. Army, Sgt. Donald O. Johnston and Cpl. Martin Solomon prepared the THUNDERBIRD MARCH and THUNDERBIRD TOAST, The Division's marching music and song. The march and song were used extensively at military ceremonies and parades throughout the war.
