A challenging professional-level piece. The first movement of the concerto, allegro jubiloso, contrasts a very celebrative and jubilant first theme with a serene second theme. the opening four notes of the composition evolve into the basic motif of the principal theme played by the solo trumpet.
The three movement Concerto had its premier performance by American trumpeter and Tonight Show band leader Doc Severinsen.
