Timothy Dow was born in LaPorte, Texas in 1996. He took piano lessons from his Mother, Diana Dow at the age of 5. At the age of 7 he composed his first composition and performed it on piano at his Mother's student recital. He learned violin at the age of 9, and began playing cello at the age of 12. He wrote several pieces for string orchestra. His first major piece to have performed was, The Locomotive. It was performed by his mother's Home School Orchestra, and the Piney Woods Youth Orchestra, directed by Dr. Evgeni Raychev. He has submitted two compositions into the Austin Symphony Orchestra Young Composer's Competition. Both were performed at the Texas Young Composer's Concert by the ASO. The first one, An Evening Storm, and the second, Ocean Depths.
Timothy is currently studying music at Florida College, taking private cello instruction from Dr. Carlos Audi. |
