Description
This is a non programmatic abstract work, which makes use of the fragmentation of an eight-note row as part of its structural construction. After the eight-note row is presented during the introduction it appears one by one during the course of the piece in the same order. During the different episodes eventual protagonism appear between the two instruments, and in the polymeric development section protagonism of both instruments is alternated.
At the introduction, the eight-note row appears totally unfolded, in a pointillist fashion between the cello and the piano, and afterwards the first two notes of the row are presented by the cello, increasing progressively up to hear the complete row during the music.
