Mexican composer and pianist, David Rodriguez-De-La-Peña is a Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Initially, he achieved his bachelor's degree at The Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City, which is his native country. He studied piano in Mexico with Rosa Maria Delsordo and in Cincinnati with Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff, composition with Allen Sapp and orchestration with Samuel Adler.
During his stay in the United States, David Rodriguez was a faculty member at Northern Kentucky University and at the University of Cincinnati. David Rodriguez has performed throughout Mexico, the United States, -including New York City (Lincoln Center), Washington D. C., Cincinnati, Cleveland, Lexington, El Paso, San Diego, Los Angeles, Ames Iowa, Fort Worth, Texas; Cuba, as well as in Europe: Poland, Austria, Spain, France, and Holland. |
Rodríguez has conducted several orchestras, as well as musicals, and he has composed music for dance, theatre, movies, and television. His orchestral collaborations have been as a soloist, composer, arranger, and conductor. Among them are:

David Rodriguez was the director of the Conservatory of Tijuana (1999-2005), Music coordinator at the Baja California Center for the Arts (2005-2007), and the Adjunct Director of the College of Arts of the University of Baja California (2007-2012). Nevertheless, since September 2012, Dr. David Rodriguez-De-La-Peña was appointed as the General Director of the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico in Mexico City.
Finally, this past October 2019, David Rodriguez was recognized with the “Batuta Prize”,the most important international award in the field of classical music, and in February 2020, he achieved a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Mexican Doctorate Claustro.
